“Essex is a beautiful and important part of our region’s maritime heritage and economy, and I am proud to have worked with local officials to win support for this important investment in the safety of the town’s waters,” Congressman Courtney said.

“Giving our students opportunities to learn more about farming, gardening, and sustainable agriculture at an early age is a wise investment,” said Congressman Courtney.

“Plum Island is home to a diverse ecosystem, and it is a critical habitat for marine animals, migratory birds, and rare plants,” said the Representatives. “

“The Eastern Long Island Sound Disposal Site is the final step in over a decade of regional collaboration on dredging management that dates back to the 2005 Dredged Material Management Plan for Long Island Sound, which was agreed to at the time by the Governors Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island,” Courtney said.

“It was great to be able to cheer Eastern Connecticut State University on to victory today, and there was a little added excitement to it as we watched the team advance to the second round behind the strong pitching of Morgan Bolduk,” said Congressman Courtney.

“After meeting with NRCS in Washington to outline the challenges we’re facing in the Pachaug Forest, it was beneficial to meet with Connecticut-based NRCS staff and their partners in academia to survey the damage up close” said Congressman Courtney.

“Southeastern Connecticut has long been a center of our region’s maritime economy, and today’s announcement represents a commitment to realize the potential of the New London State Pier – and the jobs and growth that will go along with it,” said Congressman Courtney.
