“It is an honor to welcome Vice President Kamala Harris to Connecticut, particularly to highlight Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro’s hard-fought success for working families in the American Rescue Plan, as well as Congresswoman Jahana Hayes for her outstanding work to secure aid for education,” said Rep. Courtney.

“Two weeks ago when the American Rescue Plan was signed into law, the most important provision was funding to accelerate COVID vaccinations,” said Congressman Courtney.

This past year, health care workers have received universal praise for the work they have done, in dangerous conditions, to care for our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Navy’s announcement today of contract execution for the ‘option’ Virginia-class submarine—funded in last year’s NDAA and FY 2021 Omnibus budget—is the exclamation point on Congress’s efforts to protect our nation’s submarine fleet and industrial base,” said Chairman Courtney.

“We need a comprehensive response to power our economic recovery, and the American Rescue Plan gets help where it’s needed most right now," said Courtney.

“We had over 4,000 folks in eastern Connecticut join us on last night’s town hall, and there’s no question that people have been waiting for the support that the American Rescue Plan provides,” Courtney said.

“The American Rescue Plan will get help where it’s needed, and fast,” Courtney said.

“The Last Green Valley has always been a jewel of natural preservation and conservation in eastern Connecticut, and right now their work is more valuable than ever,” said Congressman Courtney.
