WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Joe Courtney, Ranking Member of the House Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, voted to pass the final FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act.

NORWICH, CT – Rep. Joe Courtney (D-CT) and Del. James Moylan (R-Guam), alongside Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT), are pushing for new legislation to improve the health and safety of military housing.

NORWICH, CT – Today, Rep. Joe Courtney (D-CT), Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) announced over $462,000 for Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut to support veterans’ mental health and suicide prevention efforts. The federal funding is awarded through the U.S.

“Veterans exposed to Agent Orange who served in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Guam, and Gulf War and Post 9/11 veterans who were exposed to burn pits and other toxins covered under the PACT Act must file a claim or an intent to file by Monday, August 14th, 2023, to receive benefits backdated to August 10th, 2022.”

Washington D.C. - Today, Representatives Joe Courtney (D-Conn.), Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), and Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.) introduced the USS Frank E. Evans Act, a bipartisan effort to ensure that the names of 74 sailors who tragically lost their lives aboard the USS Frank E. Evans during the Vietnam War are added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.
