WASHINGTON–Rep. Joe Courtney and members of Connecticut’s congressional delegation announced that a collection of Connecticut stakeholders led by the University of Connecticut and including Yale University, municipal leaders, the state of Connecticut, workforce development agencies, and private sector partners has received an award through the U.S. National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines program. This collective will receive $1 million in federal funding from the CHIPS and Science Act.

NORWICH, CT – Today, Rep. Courtney (CT-02) announced two federal Maritime Administration (MARAD) Small Shipyard Grants totaling nearly $525,000 have been awarded to the Thames Shipyard & Repair Co. and the Mystic Seaport Museum. These awards are major investments in southeastern Connecticut’s maritime economy and heritage. The federal funding will allow these two enterprises to take on projects which will expand their high-value contributions to Connecticut’s maritime economy.
