VERNON, CT – Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Management Agency has awarded a federal grant of more than $415,000 to the New London Fire Department. The new federal funding will support vehicle rescue training for New London firefighters, as well as new equipment including power stretchers and ambulance lift systems for New London's fire stations.

Vernon, CT – Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) today announced a host of federal grant awards totaling over $100,000 that are bound for projects throughout eastern Connecticut. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Rural Development has today provided four grant awards to three eastern Connecticut towns: Putnam will receive a federal grant award of $22,200; Thompson has been approved to receive a federal grant award of $26,500, as well as a second award of $5,200; and Willimantic will receive a federal grant award of $49,900.
