Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. This is my first mark-up as Ranking Member of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, and I am proud that this measure reflects the bipartisan and in-depth work that our panel has done over the last several months.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I want to take a moment to welcome our colleagues from the Coast Guard and Maritime Subcommittee, who join us today to review the new Cooperative Strategy for 21^st Century Seapower.

Today’s hearing is a look at an important but perhaps overlooked element of our subcommittee’s jurisdiction. The witnesses from the Air Force will provide important insight into the budget request as it relates to “projection forces,” and I look forward to their testimony.
