“It is critically important for the Congress to take action and create statutory protections across the country for critical areas of family life, marriage, and privacy within our homes that America has taken for granted for too long,” said Congressman Courtney.

"This is an eastern Connecticut-focused budget, and I’m ready to keep working with my colleagues to make it final," said Rep. Courtney.

“We worked side-by-side with local leaders in town governments and the nonprofit sector to secure funding for these local projects, and today marks a big step forward in making it final,” said Rep. Courtney.

"As consenting adults, Americans have the right to love who they choose, and to marry who they love," said Congressman Courtney, "life is simply too hard to deny any person that basic freedom and humanity."

"Improving the quality of data we have on fatal accidents on school campuses, as well as increasing transparency surrounding these tragic incidents, will ultimately make for better strategies to keep students safe," said Congressman Courtney.

"These assaults on our privacy demand a strong response—Congress has a duty to protect the freedoms that Americans have counted on for generations, including our basic right to privacy, and I was proud to pass both of these bills in the House today," said Congressman Courtney.

“The 2023 Defense Authorization provides our nation with the resources we need to assure our allies, deter conflict, and protect our homeland. At a time when many people wonder if Congress can still work together and get big things done, my colleagues and I on the House Armed Services Committee proved once again that we can do just that,” Courtney said.

"There’s more work to do to secure earned benefits for all of America’s veterans, especially those suffering from exposure to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam, but this is a big step forward so many vets and their families," said Courtney.
