WASHINGTON—Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) announced that Medicare beneficiaries will not see any increase in premium costs for Medicare Part B in 2014. Despite reports that premiums would rise significantly for Part B recipients in 2014, the Center for Medicare Services (CMS) confirmed that 2013 rates will remain in effect.

WASHINGTON DC– With House Speaker John Boehner paralyzed with inaction, Congressman Courtney today announced that he has joined with fellow Members of Congress to sign a petition to reopen the government. This special congressional procedure, known as a discharge petition, allows a majority of Members to bypass Speaker Boehner and force an up or down vote on a bill to reopen the government.
