“Norwich Free Academy and Woodstock Academy are where thousands of kids in our region go to learn each day, and it’s great to see them getting the support the need through the American Rescue Plan,” said Congressman Courtney.

"The American Rescue Plan will put more resources in the toolboxes of our local schools so that teachers and students can return to class safely," said Courtney.

"We secured a victory for our public schools last year when our bipartisan Impact Aid Coronavirus Relief Act was signed into law, and this year I’m excited to join Congressman Newhouse to lead the Impact Aid Coalition, and to keep pressing this important work forward," said Rep. Courtney.

"We’ve still got millions waiting for vaccines, our schools need more resources to stay open safely, and families and local businesses are fighting hard just to stay solvent. We’ve got to kick it into higher gear," said Rep. Courtney.

"It’s long past time that Congress reinvest in these successful programs, and it couldn’t come at a more important time for our region with so much work on the horizon, and while so many are looking hard for new opportunities," said Rep. Courtney.

"There’s more work ahead, but good to know that our local public schools will see their toolboxes re-supplied with more than $59 million in support," Rep. Courtney said.

“Presenting Groton and Ledyard Public Schools with official copies of the bill that they helped to create was a special way to close the book on this success story for our local schools,” said Rep. Courtney.
