Rep. Courtney Statement on Israel-Hezbollah Ceasefire Agreement

NORWICH, CT – Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02), a senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement on the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.

“The ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hezbollah is a breakthrough that will save countless innocent lives and demonstrates that diplomacy can work in the Middle East. The energetic and determined shuttle negotiation, led by US diplomat Amos Hochstein, deserves the thanks and praise of the civilized world. Hopefully, his efforts will create momentum for a ceasefire in Gaza and a lessening of violence in the entire region.”
