Rep. Courtney Statement on Fire in Somers

NORWICH, CT – Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) issued the following statement following last night’s fire in Somers.

“Grower Direct Farms, a great family farm in Somers, fought a devastating fire last night. The Smiths built a state-of-the-art indoor growing operation that has been a great success and employer in the region. The community is 100% behind the Somers Fire Department and all the first responders who bravely worked in freezing, windy conditions, and 100% behind the Smith family at this difficult time. I am wishing a speedy recovery to the firefighter who sustained minor injuries.”
