Rep. Courtney Statement on Appointment of Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as Ambassador of Australia to the United States
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) made the following statement after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will serve as the next Ambassador of Australia to the United States.
“Today, the Albanese government made a powerful statement on the importance of the U.S.-Australia alliance by choosing former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as the new Ambassador to the U.S.,” said Rep. Courtney. “His high profile and wide experience ensures that our nations’ common priority of supporting a healthy rules-based order will continue and deepen. Heartiest congratulations to Mr. Rudd, who I believe will receive a warm welcome on Capitol Hill.”
