Rep. Courtney Slams GOP Budget that Favors Ultra-Wealthy
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) issued the following statement after voting against the House GOP budget resolution.
“Speaker Johnson and President Trump’s allies in Congress just passed a ten-year tax-and-spend budget resolution. Their bill adds trillions of dollars to the national debt to allow the GOP to pay for tax-cuts for the ultra-wealthy and advances their assault on Medicaid – which provides health care for 72 million Americans. This resolution is fiscally irresponsible, it is outrageously unfair in terms of who benefits from it, and it is extremely harmful to middle class and working families of this country whose essential need for educational services and health care are going to be cut.”
