Courtney Statement on Retirement of Electric Boat President Kevin Poitras

WASHINGTON-Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) released the following statement on the retirement of Kevin Poitras, President of Electric Boat:

“In his career at Electric Boat, Kevin has left an undeniable impact on the economy of southeastern Connecticut. He facilitated relationships with area colleges – even being awarded an honorary degree from Three Rivers Community College – to help deliver required training to Connecticut residents in order to fill needs of Electric Boat. His willingness to reach into the Connecticut community to develop mentorship opportunities and educational offerings has helped position our state’s workforce at the forefront of shipbuilding and design for the next generation of submarines. His impact in Connecticut and Rhode Island is wide and deep, and it has been a honor to work with him to support the men and women of Electric Boat. I applaud Kevin’s accomplishments and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
