Courtney statement on the passing of Jenny Contois
Norwich, CT--Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) released the following statement tonight on the passing of his former District Director, Jenny Contois, who also served as the First Selectwoman of Colchester, Connecticut:
"Eastern Connecticut lost one of its most devoted public servants today with the passing of my friend and colleague Jenny Contois. As First Selectwoman of Colchester for fifteen years, that town flourished and in 2005 was ranked by CNN/Money Magazine as the 57th best place to live in America. During her seven and a half years as District Director for the Second Congressional District I had the privilege to see up close her smart, caring work for our region. Jenny had one agenda: to help people and their quality of life. She set an example for us all as a wife, mother, grandmother and public official who left a large and deep footprint on the community she loved."
