NORWICH, CT —Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) made the following statement after the passing of Jacqueline Owens, the former president of the Norwich Branch of the NAACP:
"A giant has left us. The passing of Jackie Owens is a sad loss to all of us who were inspired by her integrity, compassion, and iron willed advocacy for education, fairness and democracy. It was a privilege to know her."
