Courtney statement on capture of Boston Marathon bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Joe Courtney today released the following statement after law enforcement apprehended Boston Marathon bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in Watertown, Mass:
"Even as we continue to mourn the lives lost and hope and pray for the full recovery of the dozens injured by the senseless bombings at the Boston Marathon, with a suspect alive and in custody, tonight is a time for thanks. To the Boston Police Department and state and federal law enforcement who worked round the clock to find and apprehend the perpetrators: your hard work and quick actions were awe-inspiring. To the people of Boston who stared down danger and allowed law enforcement the freedom to conduct an unprecedented and ultimately successful manhunt: you earned the Boston Strong label.
"The past few days have been sad and trying, not just for our region, but for our country. Now we can begin to heal."
