Courtney Congratulates Sikorsky Workforce on Securing Marine One Contract
May 8, 2014
WASHINGTON—Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) released the following statement congratulating the workforce and leadership of Sikorsky in Stratford, Connecticut on receiving a contract to build the next presidential helicopter fleet:
“Today’s decision is the right outcome for American taxpayers, despite a challenging process that took years to be resolved. Sikorsky’s successful history of running the Marine One construction program ensures that future presidential travel will be safe and efficient. I want to congratulate Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, who tirelessly advocated for Sikorsky’s qualifications, and never got discouraged by prior unfortunate decisions that squandered both time and money.”
