Courtney Congratulates Eastern Connecticut Recipients of National Endowment for the Humanities Grants
WASHINGTON—Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) congratulated three eastern Connecticut awardees selected to receive significant competitive grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Mystic Seaport, the University of Connecticut, and Connecticut College will receive grants totaling more than $570,000 to support various humanities projects that enrich the cultural offerings of eastern Connecticut.
“These grants are significant indications of the value of eastern Connecticut’s cultural offerings, ranging from our top-flight universities to unique historic attractions. These institutions provide valuable contributions to our regional tourism sector and enrich our communities,” Courtney said.
NEH grants are highly competitive and involve a rigorous peer-review and selection process to ensure that the projects represent the highest level of humanities research and public engagement.
