Vietnam Veterans 50th Commemoration Ceremony- October 19

Congressman Courtney To Host Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Ceremony In Honor Of Veterans
On October 19, 2017, Congressman Courtney will be hosting a Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Ceremony to honor all United States Vietnam-era veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between November 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of location.
All Vietnam-era veterans from the Second Congressional District of Connecticut will be eligible to take part in the 50th commemoration ceremony and receive a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. The Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin is commemorative pin presented to Vietnam War veterans across the country as lasting memento signifying the thanks of the nation for their service and sacrifice. The Pin was created by an act of Congress in 2008 during Congressman Courtney's first term as a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
The event will be held on October 19, 2017 at Windham Tech at 6:00 PM. Veterans who are interested in participating must register with my office by October 13, 2017, in order to join the ceremony and receive the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. Please note, interested participants are required to submit an official DD-214 to my office for review in order to determine their eligibility.
For veterans wishing to register for the ceremony, or veterans who need assistance obtaining their official DD-214, please contact our veterans' representative Manny Meneses in the Norwich district office at (860) 886-0139
If you are a Vietnam-era veteran or know of a Vietnam-era veteran, please share this information. Additional ceremonies to honor veterans will be announced later this year, including a ceremony to posthumously bestow Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins to the families of deceased service members.
