Rep. Courtney Celebrates Graduation of the First Australian Sailors from Sub Base New London

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) spoke on the House Floor to mark the graduation of the first three Royal Australian Navy sailors from Submarine Officer Basic Course at Submarine Base New London. The three sailors – Lieutenant Commander Adam Klyne, Lieutenant Commander James Heydon, Lieutenant William Hall – began the course in February 2024 after graduating from Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and Navy Nuclear Power Training Unit. This training pipeline was made possible by legislation led by Courtney and enacted into law in 2022.
