WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) voted to pass the Protecting America’s Wilderness and Public Lands Act (H.R. 803). The legislation is a package of eight bills, each of which received bipartisan votes of support in the previous 116th Congress. H.R. 803 provides approximately 1.5 million acres of public land with new permanent and lasting protections, protects more than 1.2 million acres of public land from new oil and gas mining claims, and incorporates more than 1,200 river miles into the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System (NWSRS).
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) and the House of Representatives voted to pass the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2020 (H.R. 7575). The 2020 WRDA would authorize the study and construction of locally driven projects across the U.S. in cooperation and consultation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. These projects are essential to everything from preserving and growing our nation’s economy, to protecting our communities, to maintaining quality of life. H.R.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) voted to pass the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 (H.R. 3351). The appropriations measure provides $24.6 billion to cover a broad range of government functions and services, including the Department of Treasury, Executive Office of the President, District of Columbia and Federal Judiciary, the Small Business Administration, and the Election Assistance Commission.
