  • 2019 Year in Review

    This year alone, my office helped recover nearly $1.8 million for constituents across more than 600 cases. More than $177 million in federal resources were brought back to eastern Connecticut’s fire departments, police stations, state parks, drug-free community programs, and more through federal grant programs. Over the course of 12 months, I had the opportunity to engage with people in our region through over 350 meetings, visits, town halls and office hours across the district.

  • After 7-Year Effort, House Votes To Pass Rep. Courtney’s Bill To Curb Workplace Violence Against Health Care And Social Service Workers

    Congressman Courtney's Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act (H.R. 1309) directs the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to issue new standards requiring health care and social service employers to write and implement a workplace violence prevention plan to prevent and protect employees from violent incidents and assaults at work. The House voted to pass H.R. 1309 on a bipartisan basis.
  • Resources for Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans

    Following the final passage of the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act, a bill I was proud to help lead with my colleague Rep. Takano, into law earlier this year, disability benefits for those who served offshore during the Vietnam War will soon be available. To help our region’s veterans understand how they can seek benefits and care under the new law, I’ve crated a website with helpful information and resources on pursuing a claim.
